'Sailing in the wind'

The force of wind is shown by this depiction of sails.

The piece is made from recycled materials. The board used to mount the work has another painting under it. The collage is made from pieces of fabric from old dresses and odd paintings on paper using left over paint.

The more serious idea behind the work is to convey the feeling of power of the wind and draw attention to it as an energy source.

Yachting, unlike most leisure activities, makes use of the natural and free use of wind. So it is especially relevant that the collage is in a sea and riverside area such as Teignmouth.
