Jane Mason:
'Doors of Reflection' - gouache on wood
I found the three panels in a skip and think they were originally cupboard doors.
The wood, probably Beech, seems to naturally frame the central space and I
thought they would be just right for 3 paintings using gouache paints and the themes of tranquillity, thought and imagination.
I have called them ' Peace like a River', 'Moonlight Magic' and 'Lake of Dreams'.
Calm water, whether it be in a river, sea or lake encourages us to pause, think about what we are doing and create new ideas. At a time when we are polluting the waters of our planet this seems particularly relevant.
