I am a local artist and feel passionately about conservation issues. My 'wearable art' costume had to reflect our worrying use of plastics and pinpoint the problems we have with excessive packaging and our inability to dispose adequately of this 'hard to destruct' material. The costume was made from recycled 2 litre plastic bottles and bubble wrap. The bases of the bottles were hand sewn together to make the cape. The 'crown' was made from shredded plastic taken from the body of the same bottles. Used bubble wrap made up the main dress and amulets were constructed from a whole plastic bottle body with apertures made for thumb and fingers.
