Mobius

'The universal recycling symbol is an internationally-recognised sign used to designate recyclable materials. It is composed of three chasing arrows that form a Mobius strip or unending loop.' (Wikipedia)

This symbol is the inspiration for my sculpture; a continuous loop created from recycled materials.

The Mobius is the symbol of continuum; there are no beginnings and no endings; past, present and future merge into pure form.
Extending this vision globally it is clear that life is no different; we are all bound by fragile quantum threads.
As we travel from the atomic, to the physical, to the communal, to the national, to the universal, we are divisible by concept only.
Our responsibility to the contingency of the whole requires action, and it is through recycling that we become activists.
With the clarity to see beyond our personal struggles, we fix our position on a map that leads towards wisdom and global sustainability.
