Key Stage 3 pupils have used plastic and metal recyclables to represent the basic structure of DNA, the base pairs (ATC and G) being represented by complimentary pairs of a can and a bottle. The way we choose to continue using non-renewable resources on a global scale can only lead to further global warming and increased use of genetic engineering - the change in 'the code of life' will be dramatic.
