The Hub
The post-apocalypse survivors' encampment was made from 1,500 hub caps, the remnants of a greenhouse, found chicken wire, donated fabric and other recycled materials. Many hub caps were collected from the wayside as road 'spin offs'.
When climate change happens it could lead to a total breakdown in society as millions flock to our part of the world to escape the worse effects. Global wars over food and fresh water are inescapable. We are in the last days of Eden now. Enjoy them.
Even though the human species could be devastated, there will be survivors who will reconstruct their lives from the debris, find new ways of generating energy and remember the good times, maybe in the form of pictures of half forgotten luxuries that we now take for granted.
Just as we may ponder over ammonites and fossils of a previous era, so may future generations ponder over found hub caps, a relic of our own era.
Our thanks to Gormans, MotorMart and many folk who found and donated hub caps. What fun / hard work it was washing them all and discovering all the different designs!
