'For many years I've collected detritus, odd bits of plastic from beaches, broken toys, flattened bottle tops discarded objects that in some way act as triggers to memory and imagination. These workshops are an opportunity to explore and reflect on loss and environmental degradation through the medium of such overlooked and unvalued objects.'

All materials, tea, and coffee, are provided, but wear old clothes, and bring along anything you think might come in handy.

After training in Painting, Printmaking and Calligraphy at Guildford School of Art, Jan combined decorated textiles and pottery with raising a family, nowadays she works fulltime in ceramic, mosaic, found materials, and digital prints. She has extensive experience of working to commission, exhibiting, teaching, community art projects, and participation in artist-led initiatives. Public commissions are usually colourful and accessible, however, much personal and exhibition work addresses questions of death, illness, loss, and our environment.

At Second roundabout, with Railway Station on Left, turn left follow road around one way system and take A379 to Dawlish. Eastcliff coach/car park is within a few hundred yards on Right Hand side.

Park at far end of East cliff Car Park - Jason's Garden is a short walk along cliff path towards Dawlish
