re:cycle Wheel

Recycled bicycle wheel, innertubes, tyres, chain and reflectors.

The mandala (Buddist/Hindu) circle represents the cosmos and also our personal wholeness. Within which I have included a green man, representing our natural selves and this accompanied by birds on the wing, representing our fellow creatures. At the centre the sun (heliocentric) sends out its life sustaining rays onto the earth, here represented by an oak leaf and wave pattern as the earth cycle of growth and decay, where matter is transformed and utilized in our natural earth cycle.

Feathers are a part of a Native American Indian Dream catcher and here represents the connection between earth bound matter with the sky bound spirit. The axis is the shape of a Celtic cross.
