'Searching for blue'
Working with recycled materials is always a journey as you are never quite sure what you are going to find. A journey to a scrap yard unearthed discarded grinding wheels, and with beer cans, Perspex off cuts, copper piping and wood 'searching for blue' evoled.
This piece reflects concerns for ocean pollution, mostly an unseen problem but one that is affecting all marine life and in time our own.
'Heading Home'
The exciting aspect of working with found and recycled materials is you never know what might inspire you!
The wonderful coastal site of TRAIL is always an inspiration and with beer cans left over from last years TRAIL sculpture 'silver darlings' and the need to move my washing machine 'Heading home' evolved.
Ocean pollution is a huge problem and the contrasting metals encapturing the fish represents their struggle to survive.
